This is a list of notable letters of the English alphabet. *A - Used to assign the highest grade. In school tests and exams, a single A is used, whereas multiple As may be used in finance to show risk, i.e. AAA, or "triple A" ratings are the lowest risk. *B - This letter is used to indicated something being substandard, such as films or lists of people. *C - Generally regarded as an average grade. *D - *E - This letter is the most common letter used in many languages. *F - Used to indicate the lowest score on a test *G - *H - Helicopter pads and hospitals are commonly indicated with this letter. *I - Lower case "i" is used in computing and public places to indicate "information". *J - *K - *L - Commonly used in elevators to indicate "Lobby" *M - *N - *O - *P - Signs with a single "P" indicate vehicle parking areas *Q - This letter is used as the codename of a character in 007 movies. It is also used as an abbreviation of "question". *R - A rating to designate "restricted" by the Motion Picture Association of America film rating system. *S - *T - *U - *V - *W - *X - This letter has been used in place of a signature for people who cannot write their own name. It is also used to simply mark something, as in "X marks the spot". *Y - *Z - The mark of Zorro.
