Lisa M. Dietlin

Lisa M. Dietlin is a nationally recognized speaker and published author in the nonprofit industry. She is President and CEO of Lisa M. Dietlin and Associates.
Early life
Lisa M. Dietlin was born in Michigan and graduated from Alpena High School.
Education
Lisa Dietlin earned her Associate of Arts degree from Alpena Community College in 1983. In 1985, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in the public administration program at Michigan State University. Lisa holds a Master's Degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
Professional career

Lisa Dietlin has been active in the fundraising arena since 1982. She began her career as a Legislative Services Specialist for the State Senate in Lansing, Michigan. In 1991, she became the Associate Director of Corporate Relations at Michigan Technological University (MTU). In 1993, she became the Director of Major Gifts and three years later she was the Senior Advancement Director of the Colleges of Sciences and Arts at MTU. Lisa then moved to Chicago in 1998 as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cygany, Inc. Less than a year later, she began serving as the Assistant Dean of Development for the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
From 2003-2007, Lisa was an adjunct faculty member at North Park University, Chicago, Illinois, in its nonprofit management degree and certificate programs. She created and taught the course "Capital Campaigns for Nonprofit Organizations" and also taught "Annual and Major Gifts Fundraising."
In 2000, Lisa founded Lisa M. Dietlin and Associates, based in Chicago, to assist entrepreneurial individuals and nonprofit organizations in developing transformational philanthropic strategies.
In August 2009, Lisa published her first book, Transformational Philanthropy: Entrepreneurs and Nonprofits, a guide for both nonprofit leaders and entrepreneurs in developing a meaningful and effective way to work together in order to solve the challenges facing us in the 21st century.
Television and Radio Programs
In 2007, Lisa Dietlin was named Charity Contributor to CBS 2 Chicago. This was a bi-monthly segment where Dietlin shared information and ideas regarding how everyone can be involved in charitable work.
She has also been featured on Oprah & Friends Radio as well as WCIU in Chicago, Marketwatch, FOX News and National Public Radio.
