Premonth Calendar

The Premonth Calendar is a proposal for calendar reform. It is the first ever lunisolar version of the Gregorian calendar by Karl Palmen which he discussed on Nabble by the 7 simple rules and it was called 'Lunisolar Calendar Example 4'. This calendar 'lunisolarizes' the Gregorian calendar. It has 12 or 13 months each year. The months are named the same as the Gregorian calendar. Odd-numbered months have 30 days, even-numbered months have 29. For each odd-numbered month, not necessarily every month, the 16th of the corresponding Gregorian month must occur on any day of that month. To ensure this, every 2 or 3 years, an extra month comes before each 30 day month, not before each 29 day month. It is named as the month after it, but starts with Pre-, for example, the premonth between June and July is called Prejuly. December has 30 days if (Year*20) mod 103 < 20. Note that each year always starts with January. If Prejanuary comes, it comes after December in the previous year, and New Year's Day is always January 1, never Prejanuary 1! Prejanuary is the last month of the year which contains it. Premarch is much rarer and only occurs on Gregorian leap years. The leap month occurs in 6 positions. A leap month is called a premonth and there are six premonths: Premarch, Premay, Prejuly, Preseptember, Prenovember and Prejanuary which is the last month of the year which contains it. Each month or year starts as close as possible as each Gregorian month or year does. Each year always starts on December 18 - January 16 of the Gregorian calendar. The month names are fully preserved and this calendar can replace the Gregorian calendar. People born on a premonth could celebrate their birthday the following non-premonth in a year (which also has 30 days) that doesn't contain the premonth they were born in, for example anybody born on Prejuly 13 will celebrate their birthday on July 13 if thre is no Prejuly. The year 2008 begins on January 8 2007 of the Gregorian calendar.
