Ritwik Mallik

Ritwik Mallik is an Indian author born on the 19th of October,1993. He is known for his novel Love Happens Like That.
Early life
Ritwik was born and brought up in Kolkata before moving to Noida at the age of 13. He completed education up to 7th standard at St. James' School, Kolkata, and studied up to 10th standard in Somerville School, Greater Noida before joining Delhi Public School, Noida for his 11th and 12th.
Career
Ritwik's first novel, Love Happens Like That, was released in on 25 December 2009. It is set in the backdrop of a high school in Noida; it explores the idea of falling in love at the age of 15 and not realising the difficulties that comes along with it. Love Happens Like That is the story of an ordinary school going teenager who falls in love and is faced by a lot of difficulties. Difficulties in the form of parents, society, academics, teachers and sexual development form the core of his journey of realising the love for his angel; his miracle.
Love Happens Like That published under the banner of Srishti Publishers and Distributors, New Delhi sold over 8,000 copies in the first 4 months of it's sale.
Ritwik has also completed his second novel which is yet to be published. He hasn't disclosed whether it is a sequel of the first one or not.
Personal Style
Ritwik uses his journalistic flair for writing and his descriptions of characters and surroundings is unique. He is often credited for developing his own style rather following the typical fictional one. This is what brings about freshness to his work.
Inspirations
Ritwik credits certain people in his life who have helped him become what he is or is about to become. First, his paternal grandfather who is a Retd.Jt.Secretary to the Government of India. Then, Arnab Goswami, the Editor-in-Chief of Times Now and finally Sourav Ganguly, India's greatest cricket captain.
