Lewis Amos

Lewis Peter Douglas Amos (Born 3 April 1990 in Clacton-On-Sea, Essex) is an English professional goalkeeper. Amos began his career with Cambridge United F.C. Center of Excellence, but joined Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Youth academy at the age of 11. Amos' last club was Bishop's Stortford F.C. (Blue Square Bet North).
Club career
Early career
Amos grew up playing for his local club Stansted F.C. in the Royston Crow League. Amos was part of a team that won consecutive promotions and also awarded trophies such as, Best Defender, Parents player of the year, 50 caps & Leagues Best Goalkeeper. Having caught the eye of Cambridge United F.C. he was awarded a trial and went on to gain a place in their Centre of Excellence. Amos attended a summer camp in 2010 which was ran by Tottenham Hotspur F.C., where he caught the eye of their coaches and was called upon to play for their youth squad against Arsenal FC. From this Amos signed YTS forms and played for Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Reserves and Academy until his release at the age of 16.
International
Amos decided that he wanted a taste of international football and attended a showcase trial held at the St George's Park National Football Centre. The event was ran by PSC (Pro Soccer Consulting) Ltd. The showcase was to expose ex professional & youth players to international scouts/managers, one in particular who has close connections with PSC was coach of the Wilmington Hammerheads. Amos was invited to play in a showcase tour along side the Wilmington Hammerheads in Antalya, Turkey, Amos impressed throughout the tour playng against top opposition such as FC Anzhi Makhachkala, FC Khimki & FC Dinamo Brest. Amos was unlucky not to receive a contract but due to USL Pro rules, each club can only have 7 foreign players and they had all been filled.
