Gedion Zelalem

Gedion Zelalem born on the 26 January 1997 (aged 16) is a German U16 international footballer of Ethiopian decent, who currently plays for Arsenal F.C in the FA Premier League. He made his debut for the German U16 team just aged 14, and is considered the next hot prospect to emerge from Arsenal F.C's youth set up.
Early Life
Gedion was born in Stuttgart Germany , to Ethiopian parents, making him eligible to play for the Ethiopian and German National Football Teams. For most of his early childhood he lived in Germany, and it was clear he was a talented footballer, his Father recognized this, and he played for many of the local children football teams. However when he was into his early teens, he moved to the USA and eventually gained citizenship meaning he could also play for the US national football team.
He was eventually scouted by american youth team Olney soccer club and he was very highly acclaimed by many of the top scouts in America. One of these scouts alerted Arsenal's chief scout during their pre-season tour of America and very impressed he was offered a ten day trial in England to play for one of Arsenal's youth sides. His Father reluctantly Accepted knowing it was the right move for his career, his Father later stated that he originally had planned to join a smaller team preferably in America and work his way up there, but he knew when a team like Arsenal wants you, you have to go.
His trial with Arsenal was highly successful and Arsenal immediately offered him a pre-contract which he could sign on his 18th birthday, and signed him up for the youth team. His Father moved with him to England where they live near London Colney.
Club Career
Olney Soccer Club
Olney Soccer club are an American Football club that are run only as a youth team to develop young talent in America and prepare them for professional teams and recommend them to scouts in the U.S. Gedion was scouted by the club just months into his time in America and generated a lot of hype, and he started to realize he could actually make it as a footballer. He made his U16 German debut at just 14 raising many eyebrows, and building his reputation. He was recommended to Arsenal scouts during their a tour of America and joined them on a trial and then a permanent basis.
Arsenal F.C
Gedion Joined the Arsenal youth squad at just aged 14 from Olney Soccer Club and played for all of the various youth ranks from U14 to U21 where he has made one appearance vs Liverpool. His U21 Debut against Liverpool at Anfield generated a lot of hype, Wenger told the press of his intentions and it was soon all over the internet and Zelalem has become significantly more well known among Arsenal fans due to this. He did make the appearance and played considerably well, the match was very exciting and ended a 3-2 thriller.
He played in Arsenal U21's next fixture vs Wolves, we won 2-1 and it marked his first win in an Arsenal shirt, again he played the full 90 mins, and he had a solid performance.
