Leslie J. Lott

Leslie J. Lott is an American attorney born in Louisville, Kentucky. She is a founding partner of Lott & Fischer, PL, an intellectual property firm located in Coral Gables, Florida. The firm specializes in U.S. and international patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, Internet law, entertainment law, and related litigation.
Early life
Leslie Lott was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Her mother’s family, the Barbees, who had emigrated from Birmingham, England shortly before the Civil War, traced their family back to the Norman Conquest of England. Her Great Grandmother, Maude Allen, was said to have traced the family to Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys, famed for their Revolutionary War exploits.
Her father, Emmett Russell Lott served in the Army Air Corps, later to become the United States Air Force, in Lavenham, England during World War II, and, on returning from the war to his home in Louisville, met and married Allene Jane Barbee, obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville, and went to work with Procter & Gamble, soon transferring to its plant in Perry, Florida, where Leslie grew up.
Education
Leslie J. Lott attended high school at Taylor County High School in Perry, Florida and, upon graduation, enrolled at the University of Florida, participating in its freshman honors program. At the University of Florida she majored in history in 1972 and went on to law school where she received her Juris Doctor from University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 1974. She became the President of the Panhellenic Council, a member of Phi Beta Kappa scholarship honorary, and the first woman member of Florida Blue Key leadership honorary. She served as Attorney General of the University of Florida Honor Court, with her counterpart, Chief Defense Counsel, Michael T. Moore, whom she would later marry.
Awards and activities
Ms. Lott is currently a member of Florida Bar Board of Governors and the past chair of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Florida Bar.
