Laurel Blatchford

Laurel Blatchford is an American political advisor. On October 26, 2021 she was nominated by Joe Biden to serve as Controller of the Office of Federal Financial Management a component within the Office of Management and Budget.
Education
Blatchford earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and anthropology from Williams College and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Career
From 1994 to 1996, Blatchford served as an investigative analyst in the New York County District Attorney's Office. From 1996 to 1998, she served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the New York City Public Advocate. From 2000 to 2002, she worked at the Alliance for Downtown New York. From 2002 to 2004, she served in the administration of Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a policy advisor to the deputy mayor.
She also served as chief of staff of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. In 2008 and 2009, she was the vice president of General Growth Properties for development. From 2009 to 2013, she served as chief of staff of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. She also served as executive director of the Federal Task Force for Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as a senior vice president at Enterprise Community Partners and worked as president of the organization from 2018 to 2020. Blatchford was a non-resident fellow at the Urban Institute and joined Blue Meridian Partners in 2020.
Personal life
Blatchford and her husband have two children.
