Laura Figueroa is a Mexican dressage champion and sculptor. Biography Figueroa was born in the capital of Mexico, Mexico City. Because of her love towards horses she decided to become a bronze sculptor in equestrian art. She studied law at the Universidad Anahuac but decided to pursue art instead. She is mostly a self-taught artist but took some sculpture lessons in Mexico and Florida. She is also a Classical Dressage National champion which she won not once but several times in her career. She attended a dressage school called Escuela Lusitana de Arte Ecuestre with "maestro" Don Pedro Louceiro and Enrique Fraga and where she learned to train them for Classical dressage. In 1989 she was chosen to represent Spain at the Inauguration Gala for the Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico where more than 50,000 people gathered to watch. In 1993 she was a founder of Classical dressage competitions and in 2001 was named President of the Classical Equitation Academy. Currently she still works as both a sculptor and a horse trainer.
