Mark Follett is an American broadcaster and businessperson.
He founded Sovereign City Communications, LLC. in early 2007 and began assembling a team of radio and media professionals with a passion for life and a belief in the healing power of music. Prior to founding Sovereign City, Mark was a founder and Chairman of the Board for the Starboard Media Foundation, the parent company of Relevant Radio that started with one radio station in 2001 and grew to become the largest Catholic talk radio network in the United States.
Mark also guided Anchor Foods, his family’s business from the local to the national stage. As a manufacturer and supplier of frozen food appetizers, including the famous Jalapeno Poppers, Anchor became a major supplier in the restaurant and grocery industry. When Mark joined the company in 1979, it was producing approximately $2 million in annual sales. Under his leadership, the company grew and when his family sold the business to McCain Foods and HH. J. Heinz Company on “the day before 9/11”, annual sales had reached $500 million and the company employed almost 3,000 people.
He is co-founder of The Mercy Works Foundation, responsible for the development of a one-stop shopping site for several non-profit agencies that provide free services to the most needy in Northeastern Wisconsin. Under his leadership as president of the foundation, Mark put into place an annual corporate tithing practice on the sale and annual earnings of Anchor Foods, his family’s former business.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School Of Business, Mark sits on the Board of Trustees at Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida. He is a member of the Legatus Society, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and was invested in The Order of Malta in November 2007.
Mark was born and raised in Northeastern Wisconsin and is the oldest of four children. He and his wife Sally have two children.
