Larry Masters

Larry E. Masters is an American computer programmer and founder of the CakePHP framework.
History
Larry is a veteran in the Open Source community, in particular with PHP, and has been active in software development since the early 1990's.
His first contributions to the community were to PHP-Nuke and the Exchange project, which was later renamed to osCommerce. Prior to developing the CakePHP framework he was a core developer for the popular PostNuke content management system, now known as Zikula.
In May 2005 he went on and co-founded the CakePHP project, and has served as a lead developer ever since. He has been mentioned in many publications on CakePHP, such as Rapid Application Development With CakePHP and Building PHP Applications with Symfony, CakePHP, and Zend Framework. Larry also speaks at conferences, regarding both PHP and CakePHP.
In June of 2011, Larry called out to the community to help Jonathan Freeman fight a patent case, also putting up an initial defense fund to help the case.
Military
Larry served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed as an engineer in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
