DownTango (the name is a wordplay formed after the military expression “tango down” for the killing of an important target) is a freeware file download manager, developed and published by Red Sky, Poland. The application is available for Windows XP/Vista/7 and Windows 8, both x32 and x64. Features DownTango integrates with Internet browsers (via plug-ins) such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari and Mozilla Firefox. The features of the software include : * parallel multi-download option with support for threads for each download * automatic download of all file types * direct CAPTCHA input integration for some shared hosting sites (e.g. Rapidshare) * bandwidth control support * bandwith requirements optimization * clipboard monitoring * webinterface for remote access and download management * supports HTTP, [], FTP * customized download speed limits * fragmenting downloads into threads per file for faster downloading * automated updates * integrated web search engine * video download option from media upload sites (e.g. YouTube), Reception Iin Softpedia’s user review, DownTango received 4.3 out of 5, while Softonic announced it “an innovative approach to file download management”.
