LA Music Blog is a Los Angeles-based music webzine founded in August of 2009 by Kristin and Michael Houser. Through its interviews of music industry professionals and artists, it aims to cover all aspects of the music industry. In addition to interviewing artists, the site also provides profiles of music industry professionals, new album reviews, music news stories, and an event calendar that covers a wide variety of genres in Los Angeles. Articles by their writers are featured on Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The PS22 Chorus Blog, TrentHead.com. Legendary music video director Matt Mahurin of R.E.M., U2, and Metallica fame was featured in an interview for the blog in May of 2010.. Notable interviews include: Rami Jaffee and Taylor Hawkins and of Foo Fighters/Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, Rob Zombie, Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson (Hosts of VH1’s That Metal Show), Morgan Margolis (President of Knitting Factory), Tish Ciravolo (Founder of Daisy Rock Girl Guitars), and Mark Mazzetti (Music industry veteran, former VP of A&R at A&M Records).
