Kyrie Maezumi

Kyrie Mimi Maezumi (born September 24) is an American actress and musician of Russian, British and Japanese descent.
Private life
A Los Angeles native, Kyrie grew up in a close family where her performing skills were apparent very early on. Kyrie is of Russian, British and Japanese descent. She has been a lifelong dancer with training in ballet, jazz and modern technique in addition to an impressive musical resume. She attended the Idyllwild School of Music and Arts near Palm Springs before enrolling at San Jacinto Community College.
Kyrie is a composer, songwriter and singer in addition to playing piano, flute, violin, 6 and 12-string guitar and banjo. Her group, "Peep and the Shivers," can be seen performing in hot LA clubs when her schedule allows. She is currently working on a collection of original songs for her first CD.
Kyrie is the daughter of the late Zen Buddhist master Taizan Maezumi. She was discovered by Cutler Management at a sushi bar in Santa Monica who encouraged her to take acting classes.
Career
She is most recognizable for her role on the small screen as Maya Chinn on the NBC daytime drama series, Passions, which she played from January 2006, until the character died in June 2006. She went on to do the film Cosmic Radio followed by DAZE. Her most recent film role is that of Ari Larsen in the Stephen Savage directed thriller "Legacy", for which she was named "Best Actor (Female)" at the Idyllwild International Festival Of Cinema" in January 2010. The film was also chosen "Best Of Festival".
