Krystian Witkowski

Krystian Witkowski (born April 24, 1990 in Rochester, New York) is a Polish-American midfielder, typically playing as a wide midfielder, who currently plays for the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer.
Career
College
In his career at Marist College, Witkowski collected three consecutive All-Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team awards and in 2011 was named to the All-North Atlantic Region second team. In 71 collegiate games, Witkowski registered 21 goals and 12 assists, including nine goals and six assists as a junior. Prior to playing for Marist, Witkowski featured for the U-18 Polish national team in which he scored his first goal against Latvia.
Witkowski played for FC Buffalo in the National Premier Soccer League in the summer of 2011 scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. In the summer of 2010, Witkowski played for the Chicago Fire Premier in the Premier Development League scoring 1 goal in 4 games.
Professional
The Philadelphia Union drafted Witkowski as the 26th overall pick in the 2012 Supplemental Draft on January 17, 2012 and signed him on February 21, 2012. He was drafted by his idol, Peter Nowak, who was team manager at that time. Although Witkowski played in the Union's pre-season games, he has missed most of the 2012 season with concussion-like symptoms. He was on the gameday roster for the March 24, 2012 game against the Chicago Fire but was an unused reserve.
