Career
Youth & College
Arguably one of the most dominant athletes to ever wear a Norse uniform, Beattie ran roughshod against opposing defenses during his four-year career at Northern Kentucky University, scoring 77 career goals and adding 30 assists. Beattie also set a school record with 184 points.
Beattie earned recognition twice as the NCAA Division II National Player of the Year, including in 2010, when he scored 26 goals and added 16 assists for 68 points, all single-season records at NKU. His efforts led the Norse to a 20-2-3 record and the program’s first-ever national championship.
Beattie was a three-time All-American, a three-time Midwest Region and Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year honoree and a four-time All-GLVC selection.
During his college career, Beattie played in the USL Premier Development League for the St. Louis Lions and the Cincinnati Kings. Beattie was drafted out of the college in the first round of the 2011 MLS Supplemental Draft by Toronto FC (13th overall), but wasn't signed by the club.
Professional
Beattie turned professional in 2011 when he signed for the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League. Beattie's season ended before it started when he tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his first pre season game for the Islanders.
In July 2012 it was announced that Beattie had signed for UMF Tindastóll in the Icelandic 1. deild karla for the remaining 11 games of the season.
