KMFE (96.9 FM, "96.9 KMFE") is a community radio station serving the Menifee, California, area. The station is currently web streaming programs and working to complete fundraising for construction of transmitter facilities to locate at 96.9 MHz on the FM dial. The station's FM stereo broadcast will be locally originated from studios in Menifee. History 96.9 KMFE Menifee Community Radio 96.9FM KMFE is the first station to provide local, community-based programming for the City of Menifee, California. The non-commercial station will occupy the 96.9 FM frequency as part of the FCC's newly revitalized low power FM service. The station is planned to sign on in September 2015 with 100 watts of effective radiated power, to serve an audience projected at 75,000 potential listeners. The station will present a community service format with main focus on news, talk and sports in the City of Menifee, including Sun City, Romoland, Quail Valley and other surrounding unincorporated areas. 96.9 KMFE Menifee Community Radio is a project of Practice What You Preach Foundation, a California non-profit corporation. On August 4, 2014, call letters KMFE-LP were issued by the Federal Communications Commission for Menifee's community radio station.
