Kira Madallo Sesay

Kira Madallo Sesay is an American film producer, writer, and actor. She is of Russian and Sierra Leonean descent and was born in New York City. Since 2006 she has been a member of the Producers Guild of America, Producers Council. She starred in the movie Go for Broke, with Pras from The Fugees. She also produced and starred in the sequel, Go for Broke 2. In total she has produced five films so far. She is the founder and owner of the film production company Kalliope Films.
In July 2010 Kira and her company Kalliope Films teamed up with Michael Bay's company The Institute, aka The Institute for the Development of Enhanced Perceptual Awareness to produce Hansel and Gretel in 3D. This film is an action packed visual FX filled version of the beloved Grimm Brothers' fairy tale in 3D. In addition to the infamous witch in the gingerbread house, the film showcases the legendary creatures of German mythology. These Teutonic beings will be designed by Joseph C. Pepe, the lead character designer from Avatar.
A second 3D movie on her slate is the Greek mythology film Mythology: The Rise of Theseus. The movie catapults the audience into the epic adventure of the young Greek hero Theseus to becoming king of Athens. For this script, she received a MovieMed nomination in 2010. Other movies in development that Kira is producing are Van Gogh the Movie, which is an intoxicating biopic about the art world's "mad genius" Vincent Van Gogh and Tokyo Chocolate, a crime comedy. In february 2010 she started production on the documentary Wrestling with Faith, a documentary film about the life of wrestling superstar turned Christian minister, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, directed by Gregory Louis Carter.
