Kick Ptarmigan

Kick Ptarmigan are a small indie-folk band from Parry Sound, Ontario.
Kick Ptarmigan was formed when Duncan had a gig obligation he needed some help with, back in 2007. He recruited singer/songwriter MArtin Jenkins and former band member John Turnbull, and together they played mostly acoustic indie-rock covers while standing directly next to a train.
Deciding this was a winning combination, they’ve been playing next to trains surprisingly often, since then. Such is the state of being young musicians in Parry Sound. Enlisting local cellist Meagan Ballantyne, they released one homemade album titled 'Oh Boy!' in 2008.
Summer of 2010 saw the release of a an EP, a new member and our first full length. The Feelgooderie EP, which featured three tracks from the Feelgooderie album, was released early in July, available only at shows in a limited edition. Shortly after Darren Durocher was added on piano to fill out the sound established on the studio recordings.
