Kenneth Eugene Shipley "Kenny" (born October 21, 1958) is an American entrepreneur, stock investor, aviator, and successful businessman in Texas. Since 1981, he has owned and operated Bell Mobile Homes in Levelland, Texas, one of West Texas' highest volume selling manufactured home dealerships. In 2005, he co-founded and opened Legacy Housing, LTD. ("Legacy"), one of the United States' largest producers and sellers of affordable manufactured housing. Since its inception, he has been the President of GPLH, LC, General Partner of Legacy. The primary focus of Legacy is the manufacture and consignment of factory built homes. As well as owning several manufactured home parks, Kenny has an extensive portfolio of in-house financed notes secured by manufactured homes. He is considered an "expert" in the manufactured housing industry and he spends much of his time evaluating credit and financial decisions. Cavalier Homes Committee for Change, Spring 2009 Kenny and his business partner Curtis D. Hodgson formed the Cavalier Homes Committee for Change in the early spring of 2009. This committee, representing concerned stockholders of Alabama based manufacturing giant Cavalier Homes, set out with the purpose to gain representation on the board of directors of Cavalier. The "Committee" filed a gold proxy with the Cavalier board of directors, seeking to nominate Kenny Shipley and Curtis Hodgson to the board. On May 14, 2009 an agreement was reached with the board of directors and Cavalier Homes Committee for Change. Both Shipley and Hodgson were elected to the Cavalier Homes Board of Directors.
