DJ Proper

DJ Proper (born Keith Thomas Jordan in Staten Island, NYC on November 13, 1978) is a notable NYC disc jockey.

Professional career
DJ proper's first official project was for DJ MOTIV8 of The Black Eyed Peas with a remix of "Where is the Love". He is a non-denomational Christian and promotes a deep connection between his music with spirtuality. He is a member of the Jamaica Gold Productions family which is a the oldest running hip hop & reggae clubs in Los Angeles. There he was involved in record release parties for acts such as Mos Def, Damian Marley, Guru, Sean Paul, Beenie Man, and most of the modern dancehall acts coming through the city.

His work has included:

-Black Eyed Peas - authorized mix for dj motiv8 mix-tape @ BEP studio (available for free download)
-NAS- authorized mixes Nas's label ill will records for his dj LES

-Damian Marley- promotions/PR/personal assistant for artist "Welcome to Jamrock" record release party for Jamaican Gold

Influences and style
His music is based on the mission to spread love worldwide and work with the most positive artist of this generation. The mixtapes from his early days are a combinition of remixes authorized by bands . The albums have his personal selection of favorite tunes highly influenced by close bands such as Living Legends and Kanye West.

He chose his dj name while reading the bible and it said everything has a "proper" time. DJ Proper feels life is hard on people and we all need to have faith to know God will get us through the good or bad times. He expressed feeling everything has its right time not to our understanding and looking for answers to why things happen sometimes is impossible .He took the name also because alot of people tell him " that was a proper set it made me dance" or he hear people say " that was proper" when he play them a song that they were working on.
