Introduction to Keli Omega 3 Keli Omega 3 was introduced in Kelantan by Kumpulan Siswazah Perikanan Kelantan in November 2006. Keli omega 3 (catfish) that had been modified is differ from normal catfish.Its been named Keli Omega 3 is due to its content of fatty acid omega 3.The acid is higher than cod, salmon or other marine fish -(citation needed). This founding was first been certified by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu http://www.umt.edu.my/v7/ and later by USDA.For the information all fish has fatty acid of omega 3 and omega 6 ,its is a matter of more or less base on 18:3n3,18:n6 nomenclature.The objective of Keli Omega 3 is not to obtained this nomenclature but more to DHA and EPA (22:6n3 ,20:5n3 ) http://en. .org/wiki/Omega-3_fatty_acid which is required and important to human health.The production of this kind of fish is done by spcecial formula thru fish feed fomulation .The change of 18 nomenclature is done by stimulating the enzime that is already inside the fish body.
