Kaylin Cervini

Kaylin Cervini (Born May 13, 1991) is a singer/songwriter, and young community activist. Cervini did her first modeling job for a Kodak add in a Dental Magazine around the age of 7 years old. At 10 years old Cervini was on PBS Kids stating why she was a "PBS Kid." Kaylin Cervini is also known for her website weightlosswithk.com - , which she designed in 2009 to help both young people, and adults to lose weight. She has also been broadcasted for helping her 12th grade English teacher Mr. David Heise get the "Golden Apple."-
CAREER
Kaylin grew up in Rochester, Ny. Right from the start Kaylin knew she loved being in front of the camera, whether it was by singing or acting- it didn't matter. At about 7 years old, Kaylin was seen by an agent at a garage sale. The agent told Kaylin (who was missing her two front teeth), and her mother that Kaylin should audition for a Dental Magazine with Kodak. A few weeks later Kaylin and her father went to the crowded auditions, and were soon called back. After this first opportunity, the young Kaylin wanted to do more. She decided to start acting class at the "Down Stairs Cabaret Theatre." Here, Kaylin started her first foundation into acting. Kaylin did other minor things throughout her young life to her teen, but didn't do the big things until her senior year of High School. In 2009 Kaylin was faced with doing her senior project, a very difficult school project. Kaylin couldn't decide on one, so she decided to do three. One was organizing her class, "Class Day" pep rally event. The other was writing an outline to a fantasy novel, and the last was to design a weight loss website. The website was a great hit in her school and community. Kaylin was on two of her local news channel's talking about this website- , and was also emailed by many interested in what she had to say. Unfortunately, just a week after Kaylin was on the news for this project, her 17 year old cousin, Christopher Cervini, was shot and killed. This caused her to take a break from the website, and start songwriting. Her first song written was called "Burn it Up." A very inspiring song written for her cousin. From here on her music writing didn't stop, and is widely known for music in her local community. Another song she wrote was called "In my Dreams"- another song for her cousin which was later aired on television when she was speaking on what would have been her cousin's 18th birthday- . Mr. David Heise was the man who sent her the Japanese quote "We must embrace pain, and burn it as fuel for our journey." This quote is what gave her the idea for "Burn it Up" and for that she needed to thank him. Kaylin had 15 other past students of Mr. David Heise, write to the local news stations, including Fox, to speak about this teacher. Because of these contributions, Kaylin was again on TV for "getting the ball rolling" on Mr. David Heise's achievement of receiving the "Golden Apple" award.
PHILANTHROPY
