Kali Bowyer

Kali Bowyer (born Kali Mari-Bowyer, 1971) is a celebrity journalist, photographer, publicist and television treatment writer. She is the only living daughter of Betty Ford Center doctor Chester Bowyer, and socialite Maria Christina (Mary) Mari. Bowyer is best known for her controversial relationship with actor Chris Rock (1991-1993), which ended in a highly publicized paternity battle in 2007,, which she lost. In 2008, Bowyer hosted the news series Taste Of The Town with Chef Elaine Minick Stone, and was a tabloid journalist between 2001-2010. Bowyer, made a name for herself breaking over 1000 exclusives for the weekly gossip rags; Ok! Magazine, Star Magazine, National Enquirer, and In Touch Weekly, and Radar Online.
Kali, switched careers in January 2010 as a publicist. Representing the biggest names in Hip Hop, her client roster held over 36 artists including multiplatinum selling rappers Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, and Cash Money’s Glasses Malone. She also made an appearance on the VH1 television series Famous Food as Heidi Montag's publicist. Bowyer, unleashed a global crossover campaign for Waka Flocka Flame. Waka Flocka posed for a nude but unrevealing picture for the company PETA to boycott killing animals.
In January 2012, producer Michelle Kuykendall created the new reality series WAGS. Kali Bowyer, Sheree Buchanan and Kenyada Jefferson, along with 4 other Atlanta single moms, have been cast for a new reality series designed to shed light on an entourage of bold, high strung single moms living the high life.
Bowyer made global headlines again on June 7th 2012; Bowyer was awarded a half million dollar judgment in US Federal Court against former client Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs, former two-time world heavyweight boxing champion, stemming from her work as his publicist in 2009.
Early life
Bowyer was born in Kula,Maui, to Maria Christina Mari, an Italian socialite, and Dr. Chester Bowyer, a clinical psychologist for the famed Betty Ford Center.
She is the great-granddaughter to Doctor John W. Truxaw, Dr. Truxaw was the first OB/GYN in Orange County, he was well known to all in the community, with a reputation for "never refusing to help anyone" and for delivering 3,500 babies, spanning three generations. He died in 1952. The home of Dr. John Truxaw and his wife, Louise, where they raised their eight children is on the National Register of Historic Places, located in Anaheim, California.
The family home was purchased by celebrity Chef Bruno Serato in 1987, which turned the mansion into an award-winning restaurant that features Northern Italian cuisine, now called Anaheim White House Restaurant. Simple as it may be, Anaheim's once "hidden treasure" is now recognized worldwide, and is now a "home" to numerous celebrities such as Danny De Vito, Andrea Bocelli and even former president Jimmy Carter have graced the home's threshold. Likewise, Anaheim White House has also graced catering events for many, including Madonna.
In addition, she is the cousin to the high society Kraemer family; Kraemer Blvd. in Anaheim, California was named after the family. In 1925 Samuel Kraemer a prominent Orange County businessman and rancher built this six-story building dubbed "The 'Kraemer skyscraper." At the time, it was the tallest building in Orange County.
Entertainment career
Bowyer began modeling as a child, initially at small venues. When she was 15, she landed small nearly nonexistent roles. In 1987, Bowyer began to develop a reputation as a socialite party girl, being identified as "rich little party girl" whose fame was beginning to extend beyond the LA brat pack scene, from New York to Milan.

Bowyer who had enough of the “party scene” eventually went thru rehab, and walked away from the Hollywood scene all together. Bowyer who later began her journalism career in 2001 within the entertainment weeklies, found herself not only being behind the news but on the front page in 2007, in a whirlwind legal battle with actor Chris Rock.
In 2007-2008, Bowyer began dabbling in the public relations market upon the request of a few celebrities in which appreciated Bowyer’s spin on their downfalls. By the time 2011 had rolled around Bowyer was noted as one of the most sought after publicist in Hip-Hop, with an impressive roster with artist such as Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Glasses Malone and tagged by the industry as “The Spin Diva”.
Bowyer made an a appearance in 2011 on few episodes of VH1’s reality show “Famous Food” with Waka Flocka Flame’s mother/manager Deb Antney, who were on set for reality star Heidi Montag.
In January 2012, producer Michelle Kuykendall created the new reality series where Bowyer had been cast amongst a number of other high profile women; however the show never made it past production.
