K. Dinesh (born June 6, 1954) is a co-founder and was a Member of the Board of Infosys Limited until July 2011. He was the Head of Quality, Information Systems and the Communication Design Group. He was also the Chairman of Infosys Technologies Australia Pty Ltd., an Infosys subsidiary and is a trustee of the Infosys Science Foundation, having been its President for the year 2011. In 2009, he in the Forbes list of Indian billionaires. Early life and education Born June 6, 1954 at Sagar, Karnataka, Dinesh completed his post-graduation in Mathematics from Bangalore University. He was awarded a doctorate in literature by the Karnataka State Open University in 2006. Early career Before co-founding Infosys in 1981, he worked with NGEF Ltd., an electrical equipments manufacturer with collaboration from AEG, Germany, and with Patni Computer Systems. He has also worked with India’s Department of Telecommunications (formerly known as the Indian Post and Telegraph department), Bangalore Telecom and UCO Bank. Career with Infosys From 1991 to 1995, he held charge of software development activities for Infosys’ worldwide operations. In this role, he was responsible for the execution, implementation and delivery of software solutions to customers.
