Ian Barry (born Santa Cruz, California, 1973) is an American industrial designer and the designer of Falcon Motorcycles. He co-founded the company to produce "The Falcon Ten", a series of custom motorcycles. Career Relocating to Los Angeles from northern California in 2000, Barry started to make custom motorcycles for outside clients, including Them Crooked Vultures and Queens of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, and actors Giovanni Ribisi and Jason Lee. In 2007, Barry began work on The Falcon Ten, a series of ten unique motorcycles designed and built by Barry. The first in the series, The Bullet was a customized factory-made bike. Since completing The Bullet in 2008, Barry has stopped customizing motorcycles and instead has developed a practice of designing, engineering, and machining each entire motorcycle, with the exception of the engine, carburetor, rims, and tires. Barry starts each motorcycle with a rare or iconic engine, creating an overall design. He then engineers and fabricates each part with CNC machine tools and by hand. There will be ten motorcycles in The Falcon Ten series. According to the Los Angeles Times, Barry's work reflects an "ethos of extreme evolution and design", and each motorcycle is "an engineering feat as much as it's a piece of art".
