K-1 MMA ROMANEX was a mixed martial arts event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was a showcase event featuring an 'Opening Fight' and nine 'Super Fights' between mixed martial artists from across the world, including stars such as Josh Barnett, BJ Penn and Don Frye, with all bouts fought under K-1 Romanex Rules (various weight classes). In total there were twenty fighters at the event, representing eight countries. The event was held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on Saturday, May 22, 2004 in front of 14,918 spectators.
