Life
Miko Ramelow grew up in a very artistic environment, giving her the opportunity to nurture her creative talents. She received her first camera, one of the primary digital cameras on the market, at the age of 6 and has been fascinated by this craft from then on.
When she turned 15, she had the opportunity to experience analogue photography, during an open day at school. This contributed to her decision to move to England, where she could complete her high school degree including photography and psychology. Her interests for both subjects is also reflected in her higher education. In 2007 she started studying psychology and criminology at the University of the West of England (abbrev. UWE) but realized her real passion was photography. She then moved to Florence in 2009 to deepen her knowledge in analogue and digital photography at "The Darkroom". One year later, "The Darkroom" filed bankruptcy and Miko had to moved back to Germany where she decided to work with several photographers and film makers across Europe and the Baltic states. While working with in France in 2009, she photographed stars including: Nelly, Jennifer Lopez, Craig David, David Guetta and got to know a lot about wedding ceremonies. Four months down the line she then got the chance to work with , an Italian fashion photographer living in Tallinn, Estonia, who she considers one of her most important mentors.
In 2010 she visited berlin to work on one of her photography projects and decided to move there in 2011 to start studying communication design at the Design Akademie in Berlin (abbrev. DAB).
