Larry Ewings is a Bay Area MC known by the stage name Jupiter 7 or J7. As a solo artist he has released the albums Jupiter 7 EP in 2004, Identify in 2006, The 2nd Story Experiment EP in 2008, and Rocksteady in 2009. Music career With raw stage energy and an impressive live show, J7 has displayed his love for the art, the culture, and people worldwide since 1994. entary. With his full length album ROCKSTEADY released in 2009, Jupiter 7 hoped to take independent hip-hop to the next level in originality and content. The album served as a tribute to hip-hop culture as well as expanding J7's emerging style and production. In reflection J7 stated, “Hip-hop has been hijacked and needs to be brought back under control... In a world with real problems such as social issues, financial breakdowns, and a declining moral status, there's no more room for lowering the bar. I intend to raise it, live it, and possibly inspire people along the way.” With a knack for mixing metaphors, spiritual undertones, and blank face humor in most of his lines, it's obvious that there are no gimmicks involved.
