Biography
Beginnings
Kodh - Ben Andriamaitso his real name - was born on 9 November 1981 in Madagascar, parents to Franco-Malagasy cultures. His family flees the country in 1984, faced with the dictatorial regime of Didier Ratsiraka. He spends his childhood in the suburbs of Paris before following his mother at Rouen (Normandie) after the divorce of his parents.
Under the influence of his brother, he discovers the Rap of the late 80's, Hip House of the early 90s. His father gives him the taste of Jazz and Soul.
He will evolve into a family environment, cultural and social development very diverse, if not always easy to live personally, will be particularly rewarding from an artistic point of view.
In Rouen, he hosts a Hip-hop program on radio HDR while running scratch demos in the first store of the famous label Katapult.
In 1997, fascinated by electronic music and hip-hop played among other by Radio Nova, he develops a passion for deejaying and turntablism.
Style & Turntablism
In 1999, Kodh decides to engage in Dj's competitions.
He develops an original sound at the intersection of his many musical influences and gives priority to an avant-garde use of dj's technics : he manages to get the drum sound power from its own decks, and willing not to hijack the cells and the magnetic field of coil to get bass sounds.
He also decides to compete with his own compositions, which are contrasted electro, rap and rock.
At just 17 years in 2000, he becomes the first french to obtain the title of DMC world champion.
Having pursued his studies, he obtains the following year a scientific "Bac".
He continues to work and develop his technique and style, and win a second world title in 2002 at the ITF of Munich.
He joins at that time the crew of Dj's "Audiomicid" founded among others by DJ Feadz, in which all are driven by passion to create music from the turntables, real musical instruments for these iconoclastic musicians.
They release the first turntablist french EP entitled "Audiomicid Ep" and, until 2003, produce a series of break-beats for innovative dj's, recognized worldwide.
In winter 2003, they publish a single entitled "Sequence 6", originally scheduled to announce the release of their debut album "Strange Data" which will not be released.
Taking advantage of the reputation gained by including Kodh, the group performs regularly on stage until 2005.
Rap & Club
In April 2005, Kodh gives his career a new direction by becoming the DJ of rap group Tres Coronas, founded by artist Rocca.
They perform on stage in the world, including Latin America.
In addition to dealing with the scratch  and dj parts in the recording sessions of the group, Kodh produces in 2006 the hit song entitled "A criticarme ».
Tres Coronas is nominated to the 2007 Latin Grammy Award, a showcase of Latine music culture from South America.
This rich experience tinged with Latin music, he redevelops his style and looks at club music like reggaeton and soca, before moving to the baltimore and baile funk, that he mixes in his dj-set. The dancefloor is a science and Kodh wants to store all the components to meet his audience who is always hungry for new sounds.
From 2006, he organizes the "Jockey Club" parties at the Nouveau Casino in Paris, where minimal house, dancehall, rap or techno are mixed. He invites famous artists as Masomenos, Goodgrief, Heatwave, Raze, KAZEY, etc...
The same year, he's asked by Mixvibes software, which competes Serato, to participate in the creation of digital tools. He also conducts several live performances to promote these tools, which performances are subject to a great buzz among the public.(video)
Turn and curve
In 2007, Kodh begins writing new songs and understands that every title has his own path, its own evolution.
He shows a glimpse of his talent behind the machines producing a few bootlegs and remixes, such as "American boy" of Estelle or "Heartbreaker" by Metronomy, wich receive a very positive feedback, through sites such as Culture of me , Resonator or Source de calcium.
In 2008, he produces a new project that combines his influences with modern pop, electronica, dance and rock, with the desire to perform them on stage. He calls it "Voice Hands Machine ».
Solo on the production, he's on stage with Manu Sauvage (synth & bass), and Nicolas Dakou (electronic drum & sampler). He sings, and handles all manner dub sounds, sound on sound, glitch, or scratch.
