Julie Cooper was the Labour Party's candidate for Burnley in the 2010 General Election. Julie is a serving Burnley Councillor and local woman to Burnley where she lives with husband Brian. Political Experience Julie has been a Labour Party member for 27 years and a Union member for 31 years. She has served on Burnley Borough Council for five years, representing Bank Hall Ward and is Burnley Borough Council's leader of the Labour Group. Julie is a Unite Delegate to the General Committee and regularly attends Labour Party conferences. Personal life Julie is forty-nine and lives with her husband Brian in Briercliffe, Burnley. Burnley is Julie's hometown where she lives with her family and where her children David (24) and Anna (21) grew up. Julie is a qualified English teacher and for the last 23 years has owned and run Cooper's Chemist on Abel Street in Burnley.
