Biography
In 2009, a group of rappers consisting several members formed a hip hop group called Juan Rhyme, founded in Taguig City, Upper Bicutan, Manila.
In November 2011, the group joined the Muzikademy Songwriting contest and music camp wherein hundreds of songwriters from Metro Manila competed. The said competition was organized and pioneered by wushu champion and actress Janice Hung with a well-known panel of judges which consisted of Pinoy Dream Academy mentor Monet Silvestre, former Orange and Lemons vocalist Mcoy Fundales of Kenyo, Indie movie director Mark Shandii Bacolod, and jazz recording artist Tricia Garcia. The group finished 3rd place with their song "Pilipinas" (Philippines), an alternative hip hop song about patriotism and criticism to a corrupt government.
In January 2012, the group recorded their first love song entitled "Sana’y Pagbigyan" (Hope to give a chance). The song is about falling in love with a beautiful girl who is already committed to someone. This is the first song in which they included the vocals of their fellow Muzikademy Grand Finalist Dwin Araza. Araza joined the group after they recorded the song and became the official 4th member of Juan Rhyme Brothers. The official music video of the song premiered on July 03, 2012 on YouTube. They have performed the song live multiple times in several bars and fiestas in Manila, most notably at the Sendong Beneficiary Concert in Bulacan wherein they shared the same stage with their idols such as Salbakuta, a famous local hip hop group. Salbakuta became their first associated act. In July 2012, Juan Rhyme Brothers became the front act of Bryan Termulo's sophomore album launch of Hanggang Ngayon with hip hop recording artist Khen Magat under BWB Records.
The group has 3 more original songs entitled Party Party Tagay Pa!, Buru-10 and Please Come Back 2 Me. The official music videos of the songs "Pilipinas" and "Party Party Tagay Pa!" will premiere in October 2012.
