JR Aquino (born in c. 1988 age 24-25) is a Filipino American singer, songwriter and Internet celebrity from Anchorage, Alaska. In 2005, he took part in the fourth season of American Idol making to Top 44. He returned in 2012 to audition for third season of the The Voice becoming one of the 64 finalists as part of Team Cee Lo. Career American Idol In 2005, he applied for the fourth season of American Idol reaching the Top 44 Hollywood rounds. However he was dropped from the following line-up of Final 24 contestants. Part of YTF Legacy He joined the formation YTF (standing for Yesterday, Today, Forever), touring many cities in USA and Canada in 2011. In 2012, a slightly changed line-up with the formation renamed YTF Legacy engaged in a second organized multi-city tour. The Voice Starting September 17, 2012, JR Aquino appeared as a contestant on NBC's reality talent show The Voice. In his audition, Aquino sang the Bruno Mars hit "Just the Way You Are". Three of the four judges on the show, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine hit the "I Want You" button. He eventually picked Cee Lo Green as his mentor, becoming part of Team Cee Lo.
