Journal of North East India Studies (JNEIS) is a bi-annual peer-reviewed academic journal published by Association for North East India Studies covering North East India studies, ranging from history, political science, anthropology, education, sociology, economics, philosophy to religion and other issues related to North East India and the neighbouring countries. It is an attempt to set a platform for debate and discussion among policymakers, opinion-makers, academicians, journalists and theologians for in-depth analysis of India’s most volatile Northeastern region and its relations with the mainland India and neighbouring countries. JNEIS publishes groundbreaking studies, insightful commentary, and hard-hitting reviews that tackle the entire range of contemporary concerns across the region. The issues appear in print edition and are available in full-text on its website. Apart from regular articles, a large section of the journal is devoted to commentaries, research notes, review essays and book reviews and discussion on previously published articles. The journal was established in May 2011. JNEIS Comment JNEIS has a bi-annual commentary section which provides commentaries on various issues relating to North East India and the neighbouring countries related to politics, history, society, economy, language, education system, religion, ethno-philosophy, ethnicity and ethnic relation, ethnic conflicts and tensions, inter-state relations, trade and commerce.
