Josh Sanders

About
Josh Sanders was born May 14, 1982 in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated high school at Portage High School in Portage, WI in 2000 where he was a state qualifying track runner. After high school he attended Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI where he competed in Cross Country, indoor and outdoor Track, twice receiving all-conference honors (4x800). In 2004 Josh founded the alternative pop-rock band "smile thru this" as the bands lead singer/songwriter and guitar player. "Smile Thru This" first release entitled "volume 3" was released in 2005 with the single "Come Down" which was featured on the Vivaldi Soundtrack the following year.
Music Career
The follow up record "anywhere without you" was released on January 3rd, 2006 where it debuted at number 18 on the American music radio charts (CMJ). The singles "clarity" and "nothing left to lose" broke the top 10 on 137 US radio stations in January and February of 2006 and the music video to "clarity" was a feature on No-Cover TV program. The band made appearances on the Sno-Core tour with Seether, Shinedown and Flyleaf; As well as independent tours with Dashboard Confessional, Lifehouse, Quietdrive, Matchbook Romance, Cute is what we aim for, Hawthorne Heights, All time low and Thousand Foot Krutch. In 2007 the band recorded "life in a rear view mirror" in Nashville, TN with producer Nathan Thomas and released the album on July 28th, 2007.
