Gimmix is a Music Player Daemon client written in C for Linux and Unix systems. In an illustration of the advantages a client/server architecture for music management and playback, Gimmix uses a two window design, with the main window containing only playback and playlist controls, and implementing a second window for library searches. This makes it very fast to start up and can be used as a simple client to control playback and browse the playlist, possibly alongside another client for performing elaborate library searches. Gimmix also has a small memory footprint and can be left open all the time for its notification area icon and notification support. Features * Simple and clean interface. * Compact and full view modes. * Library Browser. * Library Search (Search by Artist, Album, Filename etc) * Playlist management (manage mpd playlists) * Album cover art support from Amazon.com * Lyrics support from Leoslyrics.com * ID3v2 Tag editing support. * Support for controlling gimmix through keyboard * System tray icon support. * Notification support (Displays the currently playing song in systray). * Small memory footprint.
