Muzikbrowzer is a digital audio player. Like many mp3 players it plays and manages collections of digital music. Muzikbrowzer is uniquely designed for the home entertainment center or media center and has numerous features and functionality that lend itself to that environment. It is a software application and requires Windows.
Features
Users are able to quickly browse through their music library to locate and play desired music. Playlists may easily be recalled and created. Navigation and presentation are uniquely optimized for TV and remote control operation. Visual elements are customizable and it is skinnable.
Interface Music is presented hierarchically and the user may navigate with either a remote control or keyboard/mouse. For remote control operation an infra-red receiver is required USB-UIRT
Tag Editing Provides simple, powerful tag editing.
Cover Art Displays cover art from tag or file while browsing and as music is playing.
Audio Formats Only mp3, wma, ogg, flac formats are supported.
Decoding engine Muzikbrowzer uses the Windows Media Player decoder for decoding and playing audio files. Visually Windows Media Player is never seen, it is only used internally.
Volume Leveling Muzikbrowzer incorporates Replay Gain volume leveling.
No ripping Muzikbrowzer does not rip CDs. In this regard it is only a player/organizer.
History Development began in 1999. First commercial release 2002. Second major release in 2006 with numerous patches in between.
Muzikbrowzer has a relatively small but loyal user base.
