Jose Miguel Sanchez, (born April 3, 1980 in Miami, Florida) is CIO and an American internet developer within the electronic medical records industry. Jose received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Masters of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University. Jose has been in the EHR business since 2000. In 2000, before the industry was firmly established, Jose implemented one of the first web-based systems within the University of Miami, Division of Cardiology. He is credited with several innovations to include; one of the first integrations between medical knowledge data bases and clinical documentation modules in conjunction with SureScripts and Florida Shots. He was also the first to integrate a web-based health record system with the Florida Department of Health Jose recently has led various innovations on patent-pending solutions and is responsible for leading the Medios EHR team to one of the first 2011 CCHIT Preliminary ARRA certifications in the country. This certification included 27 components ranging from electronic syndromic surveillance, electronic prescribing and CMS Quality Reporting.
