Swordfish
Swordfish is an enterprise electronic document management and workflow system built and developed by Capita Total Document Solutions. It is a web based system designed to manage business documents, records and processes. Data can be centrally stored in the Swordfish repository and be accessed either through the Swordfish web browser or through the original viewing application.

The Swordfish product suite integrates with core business applications and legacy systems, including Information Management Systems, CRM systems, databases, intranets and websites. Full Microsoft Office integration allows direct publishing of electronic documents.

Application to application communication enables integration with legacy systems. For example, Swordfish Invoice Manager could communicate to an inventory application to allow specific items to be re-ordered automatically.

Swordfish’s open architecture is based on recognised and proven industry standard components such as Microsoft SQL Server, IIS and ASP.

All aspects of Swordfish development, delivery and support are managed by Capita.

Swordfish Workflow
Swordfish workflow automates business processes and is designed to enhance control through standardising working methods and enhancing visibility through audit trails. Swordfish workflow enables processes to be modelled to keep pace with changing business processes. Workflow progress can be monitored with automated e-mails, ad hoc queries or structured reporting.

Swordfish OCR
Swordfish OCR automatically extracts data from any document by using full Optical Character Recognition, Hand writing recognition, Barcode Recognition or Optical Mark recognition. Swordfish OCR incorporates freeform technology providing a data capture solution for structured and unstructured data. Recognition rates in excess of 95% are realistic, without manual intervention or supervision.

Capita Total Document Solutions is an independent software developer, which authored the Swordfish product suite.
