Jorge Vournas

Jorge Vournas (born 1967) is an emergency medicine doctor in Torrance, California. Education He received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. HICARE training HICARE (Hiroshima International Council for Healthcare of the radiation-exposed) invited Dr. Vournas and another doctor, Leon Artzner, to Japan to conduct one month's training on the treatment of radiation disorders on February 7, 2011. Dr. Vournas said, "What I learned through this HICARE training will be useful to contribute to this effort," speaking of his hospital's efforts to improve its disaster preparations. He also said, "I was so moved to see that Hiroshima has recovered completely ... to become a lively modern city. |
