Johno Verity

Johno Verity is a professional British snowboarder born in 1979 who lives in Chamonix. He grew up in a small village called Rodborne in Wiltshire, England and became interested in snowboarding when living in New York. He has many sponsors including Vans UK, Animal Clothing, and the Extreme Sport Channel. Verity recently appeared on the BBC television series My Life as an Animal' as a penguin'.
Films
Johno takes part in many film competitions such as the Jib Vid which he won in 2007 and came 2nd in 2006. Most of Johno Verity's short films can be found on his YouTube channel and on his website. As well as entering (and often winning) film competitions he also produces short clips for the skiing and snowboarding podcast Snowfix. These include Johno's Winter Tips and more recently Being Johno Verity or "BJV" for short. These clips have become hugely popular due to his unique funny attitude. Each episode of Snowfix gets around 60,000 hits and he has 250 unique YouTube subscribers. Johno first started producing episodes for Snowfix in 2006 after the small scale podcast merged with the extreme sports channel. The amount he is paid per skit for Snowfix is currently undisclosed however sources close to him suggest it is in triple figures.
Snowboarding Competitions
In 2003 he won the big air event at the British championships however he has not competed in any events since. He is more famous for his media reach and fan base than from winning the champs. Controversially no reason has been given as to why he stopped competing. Some sources close to him suggest a mental breakdown however others say he disliked the world of pro snowboarding at competition level.

Avalanche
On August 17th 2008 Johno was caught up in an avalanche when filming for Virgin 1 at Mount Cook in New Zealand. Johno was holding a camera while inside the avalanche which was also being filmed from a helicopter. The footage has become a YouTube hit with over 150.000 views and made the news in Britain.
Fan Base
Johno is probably one of the top 10 most famous snowboarders in Britain, not the top 10 best. This fame has come mainly from his viral videos and the hit podcast Snowfix to which he sometimes presents and often has features in. He has a viewer fansite and a selection of facebook fan groups.
