John Hilton III (born 1977) is a religious instructor at Brigham Young University and the author of several books aimed at teaching doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to teenagers. Hilton grew up in Redmond, Washington. He received his bachelors degree from BYU where he was originally a business management major, but became involved in BYU's program to train seminary teachers, and so followed that course. He later earned a masters degree from Harvard University in education. After receiving his masters degree in education Hilton was a seminary supervisor in Miami, Florida. He completed his Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology from BYU in 2010. His dissertation focused on the impact free religious e-books had on the print sales of those books. Hilton is married to the former Lani Olsen and they are the parents of four children. Before they were married, Lani worked as a seminary teacher. Among his books are WHY?
