Joey Parks

Joey Parks (born September 20, 1981) is an American photographer born in Tyler, TX.
Parks uses a photojournalistic, 'natural' style to photograph weddings, family and non-profit events. He does not use "elaborate" lights but rather prefers to capture the true feeling of each shot.
Early career
Joey's first job in high school was at a radio station near his hometown, where he worked as an overnight board for just over a year. While still in high school, he also worked as a camera operator at KLTV in Tyler, TX until graduating from Whitehouse High in 2000. In 2001, he began working at Glamour Shots, where he was promoted from a part-time photographer to director until the studio closed in 2003. After working in photography and broadcasting, Parks went back to radio, this time for the Clear Channel group of stations in Tyler, TX (KNUE, KKTX, KISX & KTYL) under the name 'Joey McKenney'. While hosting an overnight show on (KTYL), he interviewed the following people:

* Josh Henderson
In addition to the overnight show, Joey was the local producer of the stations four syndicated morning shows and produced/voiced daily traffic reports for the stations TV partner, at the time, CBS-19.
Freelance career
After moving to Pittsburgh in 2009, he began focusing more on photography and in June, 2010 he officially launched joeyparks.com. To date, Parks has photographed numerous weddings, family gatherings, adoption parties, portraits and fund raisers for both national and local organizations, such as the Foundation Fighting Blindess and the . Most of his advertising is word of mouth. Joey currently shoots all digital images using Nikon DSLR's.
Personal life
In 2005, Parks and his partner, Kris traveled to Benington, VT for a Civil Union service. The two currently reside in Pittsburgh, PA with their two dogs. Parks has volunteered time and services to PFLAG, Tyler Aids Service, PATH (People Attempting to Help), East Texas Food Bank, Foundation Fighting Blindness and other non-profit organizations.
