Joel Bernstein

Joel Bernstein is a musician and photographer. He has taken photos for many musicians, including Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, and The Band. On some occasions he has played as a backup musician on guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Joel, while a student at Cheltenham High School in Pennsylvania, legend says - took some photos of Joni Mitchell in concert. When she next came to town, he showed them to her, she loved them and his successful and fascinating career began. Bernstein is reportedly working on audio biographic materials for Neil Young - eventually to surface on disc or in writing (or both). He is also the longtime archivist for Joni Mitchell, and maintains the most comprehensive book listing her special guitar tunings. |
