Chris A. Jackson (born 7 July 1969) writes under the pen name of C.A.Milson and is an Australian author and film director best known for his horror fiction novel The Chosen" Milson has written many novels and other works. Biography Personal life Chris Jackson was born in Brisbane, Australia. His father is British who moved to Australia from the U.K. in the 1950's, and his mother is Australian. Growing up in Brisbane in Kedron, Queensland, Jackson attended local high school, Kedron High School then on the decision of his father, he attended Wavell High School. From a teenager he started to read the workings of master horror writer H.P.Lovecraft and found a love for horror writing himself. Early Writing Career In 1989, Jackson started to develop a love for writing and while living with his sister's family in a 3 bedroom cottage farm house on the outskirts of Winchelsea, Victoria, he wrote 26 short stories, one of which was titled Shack of Evil. A nine page story which eventually became Rise Of The Darkness. Shack of Evil was originally based on a series of Hauntings in a small town, which drew a definate comparison to Winchelsea. After he left Winchelsea, Victoria, he returned to Brisbane and put his writing career on hiatus. It was not until 1994 when he took one of those short stories and turned it into a two-part novel, titled The Chosen One, which was based on his earlier short story, Shack Of Evil. After he had finished what was a two-part, 300 page book, he decided to ask for a review and critique from his father and his aunt. After reading his work, his father said, “Oh you want to be a writer so you can big-note yourself!”, while his aunt said, “Your writing is repetative and is that of a child. I could write better.” After that Jackson put his writing career on hiatus again and began working in Marketing and Telemarketing Marketing Career In 1994, Jackson began working for A.I.F.S., an Insurance Company in Kedron, Brisbane. He found that he had a natural gift for Telemarketing, and for the next 13 years he continued in that industry, working for medium to large corporations in Australasia, U.K., Canada, and The United States. In the 14 years he worked in the telemarketing industry, having worked with Real Estate Companies, Software Corporations and Trainers/ Speakers, both as an employee and freelancer, he generated close to $500 Million USD for companies globally. Today, Jackson works in Telemarketing in an advisory role, and gives public and private lectures and seminars on Business Development, Marketing and Telemarketing. Under his real name he published the book Pick Up The Phone Family life Milson and his wife own two apartments and a cottage house in Samara, Russia. He and Anna have one son, David Lindley, named after his great grandfather, Clement Lindley Wragge Anna is a , Actress, Translator and Tutor. When Milson is not writing he and his wife travel frequently between Europe, North America and Australasia. Interests C.A. Milson enjoys baseball, soccer, and his taste in music ranges from Alien Ant Farm to ZZTop, but he holds a particular like for Rock Music and Australian artists and bands such as John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, AC/DC, and Bibliography Current Writing Career It was when Jackson was living in Auckland, New Zealand in 2007 when he started to search for a publisher again and later in that same year he landed his first book deal with Amira Press, a P.O.D. American Publisher, who agreed to publish his debut novel, The Chosen. The Chosen was released under Jackson's pseudonym, C.A.Milson, and thus began the official start of his writing career. In 2009, Milson changed publishers and the full version of The Chosen was re-released by Lulu.com as Rise of The Darkness in May 2009. Rise Of The Darkness was released in Hardcover, Paperback and digital formats and included characters and scenes that were previously cut from the first novel.
