Hamish Gee is the drummer in New Zealand band The Feelers. He has one older brother and a young half brother and sister. He attended the same primary school as another member of The Feelers, James Reid. After being re introduced through a mutual friend while busking they played their first gig together while Hamish was still in High School Christchurch Boys High School After finishing high school, Hamish got an English scholarship but chose to attend the Jazz School at Christchurch Polytechnic. He showed considerable potential in that genre but made a commitment to play Rock, continuing his collaboration with Reid to form The Feelers. He played lead guitar with the feelers before shifting his attention mainly to the drum kit early in the band's career. Hamish has played a variety of instruments in several bands since he was 11, including one where fellow New Zealand musician Bic Runga played the drums. |
