Jo Danville is an upcoming fictional character on the TV series CSI: NY, played by actress Sela Ward.
Background
Sela Ward joins the cast of CSI: NY at the beginning of the seventh season as the experienced investigator Jo Danville, a native from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim. Jo Danville will be first seen in the Season Premiere hailing a cab to get to the crime lab, when a guy tries to hit on her, she shoots him down and gets in the cab, when she arrives she teases Adam Ross, telling him the NYPD have a secret file on him. This leads Adam to tell Lindsay Monroe his days at the lab are numbered and she should avoid speaking to him. Jo is the second in command of the crime lab and a Detective first Grade in the NYPD, she will be partnered with Mac Taylor, her immediate superior, and will, unlike Stella Bonasera will have a pristine record, with no complaints. She will also have a friendly rivalary with Mac.
