JNetDirect Incorporated is an American corporation headquartered in Reston, Virginia, in the Washington metropolitan area, that develops and distributes component software and tools to customers using Microsoft SQL Server. JNetDirect Incorporated was formed in 2003 when Herndon, VA-based Juldi Inc. acquired Boulder, CO-based NetDirect LLC and established a new company. NetDirect, which was started in 1999 in Boulder, developed a type 4 JDBC data driver, JSQLConnect, and a type 3 JDBC to ODBC driver, JDataConnect, a type of software that allows databases written in one language to be accessible by software written in other languages. The drivers act as translators and facilitators for sharing information from multiple networks. In 2005, JNetDirect acquired Leesburg, VA-based Vanward Technologies Inc., a provider of consulting services related to software development and quality control and in 2006 changed the Company’s name to Stelligent Inc. In 2008, the two companies were split with the holding company, Next Century Technologies, Inc., acquiring the JNetDirect assets. Later in the year, JNetDirect Biosciences Division was established upon the acquisition of Sunergia Group, Inc. and JNetDirect’s software product line was expanded with the purchase of Combine, a tool for managing software development, change management and code deployment for Microsoft SQL Server from Herndon, VA-based SQL Farms, Inc.
