Jessica Owen Jessica Owen (born 3 October 1978) is a Manchester based artist, She is married with a daughter and resides in the Peak District, the main subject of her inspiration. Jessica Has ran her own studio/gallery, northernscapes based in the northern quarter Manchester since 2002. Her work is influenced by that of William Turner and this can be seen in her large semi abstract landscapes. Her earlier work included stitching into canvas and experimenting with material on canvas. She now, as well as painting acrylic on canvas includes painting unique watercolour on ceramic tiles. In 2008 she was commissioned by British cycling to produce a piece to present to the winning national team at the National Cycling track in Manchester. Jessica is also a saatchi online artist Landscapes stolen Thieves stole two large paintings in front of staff and visitors at a craft centre in Manchester. The landscapes were taken from the wall of Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the city's Northern Quarter. The paintings, by Jessica Owen, 26, from Macclesfield, show landscapes at Sterndale Moor and Margery Hill, both near Leek in the Peak District. She is offering a reward for the works, valued at £975 and £795, but said they are "worth much more than the money". "They were being saved for this exhibition on September 17," she said. "I've had opportunities to sell them several times in the craft centre, but I wanted to save them for the exhibition." "A few people saw them walking out with the pictures in front of everybody. "They are big paintings - the size of a man. It's not as if they hid them under their jumpers."
