Jess Jackson (born 15 July 1980, west London, England) is a record producer and songwriter. He is mostly notable as the longtime producer for Los Angeles rapper Tyga. Early life Jess Reed Jackson was born in London, England, where he was raised, and attended ADT College. He attended West Thames College and graduated Radio Broadcasting and Recording Engineering. Jess's father David Reed managed the book store "Equinox Bookshop" that belonged to Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page in the 1970s.(vide: West London Observer - September 11, 1975 P.5, ibid. December 25, 1975 p. 5) Career Before he became successful in Music Production, Jackson supported himself as a night club DJ, recording engineer and model / actor. Jess began producing music aged 14 in his family home bedroom with neighbour Simon Franks (Audio Bullys). In 1997 at the age of 17 Jackson released his third UK garage record "Hobson's Choice". UK Garage Chart #1 (4 weeks). The record consisted mainly of sub bass and took the radio and club scene by storm. The record was also the inspiration to the beginning of a new music scene "UK Garage". Jess hosted a live weekly show on illegal pirate radio station Flex FM in London. In 1999 he took to the studio with Andrew Roachford and together with the co-production of "Simon Francs" released the single "24-7-365" on Sony Music. Jackson was the resident Scratch DJ for the Patrick Alan band and performed on stage every Monday night at London's exclusive night club "10 Room". Taken from Patricks Biography, Jackson performed alongside Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Sean Paul, Nas, Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Angie Stone, Lionel Richie, Estelle, Will Smith, Blu Cantrell, Wyclef Jean, Damon Dash, Westlife, Lee Ryan to name a few. In 2001 Jackson signed with London based record label “Pure Silk”. Jess said it was here that he met up with an old school classmate from ADT College “AC Burrell” who was also signed to Pure Silk Records. According to Jackson the label was under poor management and closed in 2003. Pete Townshend of The Who signed Jess Jackson in 2003 to his publishing company Eel Pie Publishing as a songwriter. In 2004 Jackson joined with The Firin' squad Kiss 100 FM. Under the name "Firin Squad Productions". He produced UK remixes for 50cent and "Joe", Kevin Lyttle, Nina Jayne. In 2005 Jackson was featured in a PlayStation commercial shot by Director Joseph Kahn. Jackson Produced underground hip-hop songs with former Onyx member Fredro Starr in Los Angeles, California. The Knux (Interscope Records) features Jess Jackson in a skit where he plays the character "Pea Knuckle" a cockney British drug dealer on their album "Remind Me In 3 Days". Throughout 2008 & 2010, Jacksons music is featured on MTV and Bravo reality TV shows. In 2009 Jess and AC Burrell Produced Peter Andre's album "Revelation which reached platinum sales in the UK". In 2010, Jackson resides in Los Angeles and is currently producing Tyga's forthcoming album "Careless World".
